Chromecast Unboxing, Setup and Review

I somehow managed to score a free Chromecast, so I thought I would quickly set one up and see how it works.

If you’re interested in picking one of them up, check out these links:

If you don’t know what a Chromecast is, it is basically a small device that plugs into the HDMI port of any TV and gives it functionality similar to a Smart TV. It allows you to stream things like Netflix, Youtube, etc. You can control it using your smartphone or tablet.

In this video I borrowed some footage from Dee and Dave, check out their channel here.

  1. Chromecast is interesting and there’s much more that u can do with this cool device. I’ve combined mine with UnoTelly and now I have access to all regions of Netflix and thus, acess to much more content than the Canadian Netflix. Did you know that every new episode of Better Call Saul was available in Netflix UK one day after it aired in US by AMC? Pretty cool 🙂

    1. I didn’t know they were getting shows out that fast. I’m in Canada and we are crippled by the CRTC and their stupid Canadian content guidelines. There has to be a certain percentage of Canadian content for a broadcaster to be approved, so we always get the short end of the stick. I will have to look into it more, as I was considering dropping my Bell satellite TV service completely and going strictly Netflix anyway.
